The 93rd Namwon Chunhyang Festival

Every May in Namwon, Chunhyang Festival is held to coincide with the day Chunhyang and Mongryong Lee first met.

Chunhyang Festival, which started in 1931, is regarded as the first local festival in Korea, and through various cultural performances, Chunhyang Festival celebrates the spirit of Chunhyang who never loses faith and enhances the value of our traditional culture.

At the National Chunhyang Contest, which is held as part of the Chunhyang Festival, you can witness the birth of today's Chunhyang right in front of your eyes, and through the event called Daedonggilnori, you can feel the festival that all citizens can participate in and enjoy with their bodies and minds.

Major events include the national Chunhyang Contest, Daedong Gilnori, traditional wedding ceremony, floating LED paper boats, night market, monthly marketplace, drone show, and fireworks as side events.
