Siheung Gaetgol Festival Siheung tidal flat is the only inner bay tidal flat in Gyeonggi-do, and boasts a wonderful view as seawater flows in and out through a waterway that runs from the sea to the center of the city. In Gaetgol, where the natural ecosystem is completely preserved, many creatures, including crustaceans such as farm crabs and sea crabs, amphibians, and natural monuments such as black-headed waterfowl, spoonbills, and kestrels, and birds corresponding to endangered animals, can be seen. The Siheung Gaetgol Festival has been held since 2006 to promote the importance of Siheung Gaetgol ecology, the history and beauty of Siheung Salt Farm, and to promote the importance of beautiful Naeman Gaetgol and wetlands, creating a festival where people and nature coexist.
